  14. Can I customize the registration page that users see WishList Member?
  15. How do I change the email settings?
  1. Is there a way that I can make my membership site login appear on the navigation bar using WishList Member?

To create the login to appear in your main navigation, I would recommend you create a blank page with the title "Login".

Then install the plugin called "Redirection" and redirect that page to the main WP Login.

Here is the link to download Redirection:
    http://urbangiraffe.com/plugins/redirection/

  2. How do I use the login widget in conjunction with WishList Member?

    It's very simple.

Go to "Design" and then select "Widgets".

You should see the "Wishlist Member" widget in the list. Click "Add" and it will add the widget to your sidebar.

The widget itself follows the same styling as your other sidebar elements so if you would like to customize it in any way, it would need to be done within your WordPress theme.

Here is a video on exactly how to do this:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/28-login-widget-wp27/

  3. Can I change the CSS styling of my login widget?

The widget itself follows the same styling as your other sidebar elements so if you would like to customize it in any way, it would need to be done within your WordPress theme.

The styling of the member login widget follows the CSS of your blog's theme.

However, if you wanted to create specific styling for the widget you can apply styles to the WishListMember_Widget CSS class.

  4. Can I add the login form to a page or within a post using WishList Member?

Yes, the Login Form can be added to any Page or Post by inserting the Login Form Merge Code into its content area.

Here is a Screenshot of the Login Form Merge Code:
    http://screencast.com/t/zCJXAK6n

Note that this does NOT need to be added to the HTML of a page. It can simply be added to the content area.

  5. How can I allow my members to "Logout" of my membership site using WishList Member?

If you are using the WL Member widget, there is a logout link that looks something like this:
    http://screencast.com/t/6p7z0X3kci

If you haven't installed the login widget, it's very easy.

Here is a video on how to use the login widget:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/28-login-widget-wp27/

  6. How do I use merge codes in my membership site posts using WishList Member?

To add the merge codes, you simply need to insert them into a post or page. The merge codes are located below where you would add content for any post/page.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/3ivLGqpPlXz

    Here they are in text:
    * First Name:
    * Last Name:
    * Email:
    * Membership Level: Array
    * Username:

    Hopefully that helps.

  7. How does the "more tag" protection work in WishList Member?

The "more tag" protection works just like a regular WordPress more tag.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/PcuP0AI0b1

You don't have to worry about inserting any code. All you need to do is select the "Yes" radio button in the WL Member "Settings" section for the "Protect all content after the more tags".

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/6HDFZnZe

Then once you add a more tag in any post, it will automatically protect the content AFTER the more tag.

So I generally like to make the copy before the more tag very compelling so that non-members will want to read the rest. Then, the more tag protection ensures that only paying members can access that content.

Below is a video on more tag protection:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/more-tag-protection-wp27/

Here is another video on automatic more tag protection:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/10-automatic-more-tag-protection-wp2/

  8. How can I hide pages that I don't want to from appearing along the top of my membership site using WishList Member?

The easiest way to hide certain pages from appearing is to download the plugin called Page Link Manager.

    Here is the download:
    http://gmurphey.com/2006/10/05/wordpress-plugin-page-link-manager/

This will give you the ability to control the display of your pages.

So for example, if you don't want the certain pages being displayed, you would just uncheck the checkbox that says "Include Page in Site Navigation".

    Here is a screenshot:
    http://screencast.com/t/bh4MXM7iHmC

  9. There are certain pages I created that aren't appearing at the top of my site. Why can't customers click to view this page?

The reason why these pages aren't appearing has to do with the pages you selected in the settings for the "error pages" and the "after registration" & "after login" pages.

Whatever page you select for these options will NOT appear in the navigation or options for WL Member.

Here is a screen shot of the settings I am referring to:
    http://screencast.com/t/oeMmAfAYR

Essentially once it's used for the error pages/after reg page, WL Member does not make it available for anything else.

So, if you want to have a similar page available we recommend you create a duplicate.

  10. Why are my pages not redirecting properly to the specified error pages?

It's likely that you have your permalinks set on the default setting. Try changing them to something else.

To do that go to your WordPress "Settings" and then click the "Permalinks" link.

From there we recommend you select the "Custom" radio button and enter this: /%postname%/

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/E2IXQXee

    That should fix all problems.

  11. How can I protect my content using WishList Member?

There are a number of ways to protect your content using WL Member.

The most popular (and what you will want to use for providing "teaser" content") is by using the "more tag".

To do this, you'll need to activate this feature in the "Settings" section.

Here is a quick screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/803wPXIV

Then to use this in a post, you simply go to "Write - Post" and enter the content you would like everyone to see first, then add a "more tag". Then enter the content you would like protected after the more tag (shown in the screen shot below):
    http://screencast.com/t/5DzapXzvUv

The next step is to scroll down to the "Advanced Options" which is located just below where you would write your post. There you will see the options for deciding who has access to the content.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/ljJPTWnHlV

By following these steps, you'll be able to display teaser content before the more tag and everything after it will be protected for the members you decided to give access to.

If you would like to see a video on this process, please watch these:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/more-tag-protection-wp27/

    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/10-automatic-more-tag-protection-wp2/

If however you DO NOT want to display "teaser" content, then you would protect the entire post or page in the post/page settings as I explained above.

    Here is the screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/ljJPTWnHlV

Secondly, you would then go to your main WL Member Settings and make sure that you have the Hide/Show feature checked to "Yes".

    Here is an example:
    http://screencast.com/t/5hGqAx4S

That way, they would need to be logged in to even see what content they have access to.

If you would like further instruction on this, I'd encourage you to watch these videos:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/21-protecting-specific-content-wp27/

    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/11-private-tag-protection-wp27/

  12. What page does the "Register" link take people to on WishList Member?

The "Register" link will take people to the "Non-Member" error page that you indicate in your "Settings" section.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/PZpqWd1enZu

We recommend creating an error page that also includes links to where someone interested in your site could register.

    Here is an example:
    http://screencast.com/t/dhtzp03HAD

Also, here are a couple videos on creating error pages:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/03-creating-your-error-pages-wp27/

    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/04-cancelled-error-page-wp27/

  13. Can a user be signed up for more than one membership level at a time on WishList Member?

With WL Member, people can belong to more than one membership level at a time.

All you need to do is follow the same payment/registration process but encourage them to click the "existing members" link on the registration form.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/i9NEdaO0nx

With that in mind, you will probably want to use the feature whereby you can customize the registration page for each membership level by adding HTML above and below.

To access this, you just go to the WL Member "Settings - Registration Page". Then select the membership level you want to work with and then you'll be able to enter the HTML above and below.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/nQf3g3gVQ

Here is a video on exactly how to do it:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/15-customizing-your-registration-page-wp27/

  14. Can I customize the registration page that users see WishList Member?

You can customize the registration page for each membership level by adding HTML above and below.

To access this, you just go to the WL Member "Settings - Registration Page". Then select the membership level you want to work with and then you'll be able to enter the HTML above and below.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/nQf3g3gVQ

Here is a video on exactly how to do it:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/15-customizing-your-registration-page-wp27/

  15. How do I change the email settings?

You can find all the email settings within the WL Member "Settings" tab.

Then look for the "Email Settings" sub tab on your right.

    Here is a screen shot:

WL Member Member Management

  1. Does WishList Member offer automatic cancellation for members of my site?
  2. What happens if somebody sees the title of my protected content when doing a Google search and tries to click on it?
  3. Can I import members into WishList Member?
  4. I am not receiving an email when I create a test user account for my membership site. Do you have any idea why this is happening?
  5. How do users receive their username and password when signing up for a membership on WishList Member?
  1. Does WishList Member offer automatic cancellation for members of my site?

WishList Member does currently have automatic cancellation with PayPal as well as ClickBank.

Therefore when someone's payment doesn't go through it will automatically shut off their account.

The following videos will show you how to integrate both PayPal and ClickBank with WishList Member

    PayPal:
    http://member.wpwishlist.com/23-paypal-integration-wp27/

    ClickBank
    **Coming Soon**

  2. What happens if somebody sees the title of my protected content when doing a Google search and tries to click on it?

Google Caching - Since WL Member protects all content, the search engines will be sent to your "Non-Member" error page if people try to access protected content.

Here is a screen shot of a search for a specific page within a membership site that has the content protected:
    http://screencast.com/t/bbm1Zqfgk

So it will list the page title but when someone clicks that, they must be a member to access it.

  3. Can I import members into WishList Member?

Yes you can Import members from an existing membership (as long as you can export the data from your existing membership solution).

Here is a video showing you how to both import and export members in WL Member:
    http://member.wpwishlist.com/17-importing-and-exporting-members-wp27/

What happens is that WL Member will provide you with a CSV Template. This template contains the standard info like "name", "email" etc. but it also contains the username and password.

So essentially you could move an entire membership over without your members even realizing because you could use their existing username and passwords :)

Similarly, you could create new ones and you can assign them to any membership level that you have in your system.

    It's very simple.

  4. I am not receiving an email when I create a test user account for my membership site. Do you have any idea why this is happening?

One thing you may want to check is that the email address you are using to sign up for the new accounts is NOT already in your WP database.

For example, if you used abc@example.com as your admin email address, and then you signed up for another account and used the same email address (abc@example.com), it will not send the email again.

Try a different email address and everything should work accordingly.

  5. How do users receive their username and password when signing up for a membership on WishList Member?

Depending on how you have the payment process setup, your members maybe sent directly inside your membership.

When this happens their username automatically becomes their email address and their password is emailed to them.

I'd recommend creating a welcome page as your "Registration Redirect" page and on that you explain that their email is their username and their password has just been sent.

You should also explain that if they ever lose their password they can always get it back by clicking the "Lost Password" link in the login widget.

Here is a screenshot to demonstrate:
    http://screencast.com/t/SDAbB6af

WL Member Membership Levels

  1. How do I delete a membership level in WishList Member?
  2. How do change who is allowed to see comments in WishList Member?
  3. What does the "Grant Continued Access" box mean?
  4. How do I create the registration url for my membership site using WishList Member?
  5. Is there any way that I can give a member access to create and post content on my membership site?
  6. How do RSS feeds work in WishList Member?
  1. How do I delete a membership level in WishList Member?

Deleting a membership level is fairly straight forward. Basically you check the box beside the membership level you want to delete in the "Membership Levels" section. Then click "Save Settings".

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/0vNn88MTG

  2. How do change who is allowed to see comments in WishList Member?

You will want to look at your permission levels for comments. You can see those by going to the "Membership Level" tab and then selecting the "Membership Content" tab.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/hOrnrW1S

Once there, you can select the membership level you would like to work with and adjust the permissions on the comments by clicking the "comments" tab.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/uKKIG5c5P

That is where you can determine what that membership level has access to as far as the comments go.

Then you just need to repeat the process for each membership level.

  3. What does the "Grant Continued Access" box mean?

Basically the "Grant Continued Access" box means that if someone stops paying, they can still access the content they have paid for up to that point.

It's generally used for Modular courses. For example let's say it's a 6 module course and they stopped paying after 2 modules.

If the "Grant Continued Access" was checked, they would still be able to access the 2 modules they paid for.

  4. How do I create the registration url for my membership site using WishList Member?

First you'll need to create a membership level for your site. You can do this by going to "Membership Levels" in the tabs for WL Member.

Here is a video on how to add new membership levels:
    http://member.wpwishlist.com/20-adding-new-membership-levels-wp27/

After you create a membership level, a registration URL will automatically created for that membership level.

So after someone pays for your membership, you would want to direct them to this URL. The registration URL will typically be the "thank you page URL" for most paid memberships.

If it's a free site, you would follow the same process and just direct them to the registration URL when you want people to sign up.

Here is an example of the URL I am referring to:
    http://screencast.com/t/16dWp6Xwl

Once someone is taken to that URL, they will see a registration form for your membership site where they would select their username and password. And since the URL is specific to each membership level, WL Member automatically recognizes what membership level to place the user into.

Here is an example of what a registration page will look like:
    http://screencast.com/t/0dFvMaVR

So once they fill out that info, they are taken inside your membership and their info is saved in the system.

They are also sent an email from your site that contains their info for backup purposes. You can edit this email in the "Settings" section and then the "Email Settings" tab.

    Here is a screenshot:
    http://screencast.com/t/uw2pNmdtfqZ

Also, below is a video on how to setup your email settings:
    http://member.wpwishlist.com/14-email-settings-wp27/

  5. Is there any way that I can give a member access to create and post content on my membership site?

To enable a member to become an author you would need to change their "role" for the membership level they belong to.

You do that in the "Membership Levels" section.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/0achcuVbs2

  6. How do RSS feeds work in WishList Member?

    Here's how feeds should work:

    1. If you have "only show content for each member level" enabled then only unprotected feeds will be displayed

    2. If you have "only show content for each member level" disabled then all feeds will be displayed but protected posts will be truncated

If you wish to provide RSS feed to your members, then you should use the special RSS feed provided for them on the WL Member sidebar widget.

In the video below there is also a section discussing protecting your RSS feeds:
    http://member.wishlistproducts.com/07-pending-period-and-secure-rss-key-wp27/

WL Member Sequential Upgrade

  1. How would I setup my membership site if I was delivering modular content using WishList Member?
  2. How would I add members to a new membership level on a monthly basis so that they will have access to that month's content as well?
  3. If I have a modular type setup for my membership site how can I deliver one module at a time to them on a monthly basis?
  4. How do I setup the sequential upgrade to go from trial to a paid subscription and integrate it with my shopping cart so I will be sure that I get paid?
  1. How would I setup my membership site if I was delivering modular content using WishList Member?

For a modular membership, I would advise you to setup your membership levels so that you can just copy the settings from the previous level and just add the new areas that they have access to.

That way each new month automatically has access to the same content they did the previous month but they also have access to the new material.

So for example, I would setup month 1 and determine what month one is able to access. Then when I create month 2, I would copy the "month 1" membership level and just add the additional access.

Here is where you would do that:
    http://screencast.com/t/RWAhg2Zv3Z

  2. How would I add members to a new membership level on a monthly basis so that they will have access to that month's content as well?

    SEQUENTIAL UPGRADE:
With Sequential Upgrade, there are a couple ways to approach your desired method of delivery.

The first is to create a unique membership level for each period of training that you do. From there, the Sequential Upgrade feature would enable to you to add/move your members to the next period's training after a specified period of time.

So for example, you could have "Module 1" and then members are automatically moved to "Module 2" after "X" days and then "X" days later they are automatically moved "Module 3" and so on.

    For example:

Module 1 sequentially MOVE to Module 2
Module 2 sequentially MOVE to Module 3
Module 3 sequentially MOVE to Module 4
    etc.

Another thing you could do is use the "Sequential Add".

What this does is "add" people to a new level instead of moving them from one level to another.

So now a person can be sequentially upgraded and belong to more than one membership level as time goes on.

You would use this if you wanted to keep the content inside Module 1,2,3 totally different (so Module 2 wouldn't have all the content from Module 1 in it).

Anyway, it works the same way except the only difference is that the person would belong to multiple levels/modules as they are upgraded accordingly.
    Adding Content:

It is important to note the differences between "Move" & "Add" and grant access to your content accordingly when adding new posts depending on whether you are using sequential add or sequential move.

In the "ADD" scenario you would want to have the "Module 1" membership level to have access to ONLY the posts/pages etc.. that you want a"Module 1" member to have. When they are added to Module 2 they will still be a part of Module 1 so you don't need to grant that level access to the Module 1 content, only the Module 2 content.

Then after a set amount of days when they are added to Module 3 and the same logic applies. You only want to give the Module 3 membership level access to Module 3 content. They will be able to see Module 1 & 2 content because they will still be part of those levels as well.

The big difference between the 2 sequential options is that in Sequential add, users are being added to another membership level each month so they are members of MULTIPLE levels. So each post would only need to be granted access to the level that it belongs to.

With sequential MOVE they are only members of one level and you have to set your posts/pages, etc. to factor that in.

For example, as the membership levels increase in number (Module 1, Module 2, etc.) you need to be sure that when creating new posts/pages, etc. you allow access to the previous membership levels as with the Move option, members are only associated to ONE membership level.

  3. If I have a modular type setup for my membership site how can I deliver one module at a time to them on a monthly basis?

There are a couple ways to approach your desired method of delivery and yes, WL Member can help you with that.

The first is to create a unique membership level for each month of training that you do. From there, the Sequential Upgrade feature would enable to you to add/move your members to the next month's training after a specified period of time.

So for example, you could have "Module 1" and then members are automatically added/moved to "Module 2" after 30 days and then 30 days later they are automatically added/moved "Module 3" ans so on.

  4. How do I setup the sequential upgrade to go from trial to a paid subscription and integrate it with my shopping cart so I will be sure that I get paid?

In this situation you would create a membership level called "Trial" and then use the "Sequential Upgrade" feature to graduate them up to the regular membership level after 30 days.

Then what ever shopping cart you are using would need to rebill them accordingly after the 30 day period.

That way WL Member is synchronized with your shopping cart so that they are billed for the next month and they now have access to the site accordingly.

If they cancel during that time you would just cancel or pause the auto upgrade in WL Member of if you were FULLY integrated with WishList Member (using PayPal, ClickBank or Cydec) this would be automatically done for you depending on how you have things set up.

WL Member Integration

  1. Does WishList Member integrate with 1 Shopping Cart (1SC)?
  2. How would I create a trial membership and have it integrate with 1 Shopping Cart (1SC)?
  3. I am having issues getting PayPal to work for reoccurring billing in my 1 Shoppping Cart (1SC) account.
  4. Can I bundle my WishList Member membership site with other products in 1 Shopping Cart (1SC)?
  5. How would I set up a "Paid Upgrade" in 1 Shopping Cart (1SC)?
  6. Does WishList Member give you the ability to run an affiliate program from within it?
  7. Does WishList Member have aWeber integration?
  8. I am having trouble FTP-ing content like audio to WishList Member
  9. Is there any way that I can integrate a forum into my WishList Member membership site?
  10. Is there a way that WL Member can be set up so that if a member cancels payment, they will be automatically blocked from accessing protected content?
  11. Is there any way that I can protect the link for media files within WishList Member?
  12. Do you have any suggestions on how to get additional WordPress plugins created?
  13. Can I use the Paypal Sandbox to test Wishlist?
  1. Does WishList Member integrate with 1 Shopping Cart (1SC)?

To integrate with 1SC, you'll want to first create a product in their system for each level of your membership.

For example, if you have a "Free" Membership level and a "Gold" membership level, you'll want to create a product called "XYZ Membership - Free" and "XYZ Membership - Gold".

Similarly, you'll want to create a corresponding autoresponder for each product inside 1SC. That way you can email your members.

If you have questions about setting up your 1SC account, I would advise calling their support - they are friendly and available to help walk you through any technical questions you may have.

Then, once you have your products setup inside 1SC, they will ask for a Thank You Page URL to send people to once someone has bought.

This is the URL that WL Member creates for you. To use this, go to "Membership Levels" and you'll see the URL beside each membership level that you have created.

If you need a visual example we would recommend watching this video:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/20-adding-new-membership-levels-wp27/

Now the other thing to remember with 1SC is that we also have another method of integrating with them using the SKU for the product that you created inside 1SC. It's a very similar process as described above.

For details on this we would recommend watching the following video:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/24-1shoppingcart-integration/

  2. How would I create a trial membership and have it integrate with 1 Shopping Cart (1SC)?

For what you described above, you would need to setup 2 different products in 1SC.

    1) 14 Day Trial - set the initial price to $0 (or whatever your trial price is) and then set the recurring amount to be $47 (or whatever your monthly price is). Then just make sure that your first billing starts on Day 15.

Here's a screen shot of where to set this up within 1SC:
    http://screencast.com/t/S1OgswUB

Then, once you have your products setup inside 1SC, they will ask for a Thank You Page URL to send people to once someone has bought.

This is the URL that WL Member creates for you. To use this, go to "Membership Levels" and you'll see the URL beside each membership level that you have created.

If you need a visual example we would recommend watching the follwing video.

    Here is the URL:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/20-adding-new-membership-levels-wp27/

Now the other thing to remember with 1SC is that we also have another method of integrating with them using the SKU for the product that you created inside 1SC. It's a very similar process as described above.

For details on this I would recommend watching the following video:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/24-1shoppingcart-integration/

What we also suggest you do is create a "Trial" membership in WL Member that automatically upgrades to "Month 2" after 15 days. That way after the trial period is over, they will automatically be upgraded to the normal membership.

The only problem with 1SC is that we can't provide Full Integration so that means if someone cancels, you'll need to manually "pause" or "cancel" their membership in WL Member.

  3. I am having issues getting PayPal to work for reoccurring billing in my 1 Shoppping Cart (1SC) account.

It's important to note that 1SC does have trouble with their PayPal integration for recurring billing. Basically 1SC will bill them the first time but can't process any other payments through PayPal after that. So if you use 1SC then you'll have to have your own merchant account and only process through that versus including PayPal.

  4. Can I bundle my WishList Member membership site with other products in 1 Shopping Cart (1SC)?

YES you can bundle WL Member with other products in 1SC.

    Here is how:

You would create the product/membership as usual in 1SC but you would NOT use the 1SC integration with WL Member.

Instead, you would just use the registration URL provided for the membership level you wish to give them access to.

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/JQxCoTpnvFk

You would place this is an autoresponder message that the person would receive after their order goes through. Typically this would be the first message and it would be sent on "Day 0".

This is actually the process we use when someone purchases from us with WL Member. This is how they get access to the customer center.

    Take a look:
    http://screencast.com/t/pGKmNG58

So now, after an order goes through, the person would receive an email from you with a link to where they can register for your membership site.

IF you are looking to use FORCED CONTINUITY with this whereby they get it free for the first 30 days and then are charged $17/month, then you need to configure 1SC accordingly.

This is NOT done on the WL Member side of things. It's done within 1SC and I'd recommend making the product price $0 with a recurring component that begins after 30 days and charges them accordingly.

Although we don't support 1SC, here is how you do this...

Go into "Manage Products" and select the product you wish to setup.

Then click on the "Optional Values" tab and look for "Recurring Options".

Then you would set it up this way:
    http://screencast.com/t/0lKwnpp7

  5. How would I set up a "Paid Upgrade" in 1 Shopping Cart (1SC)?

To offer a paid upgrade is very similar to how you would setup a normal payment process.

You'll want to first create a product in your shopping cart for each level of your membership.

For example, if you have a "Free" Membership level and a "Gold" membership level, you'll want to create a product called "XYZ Membership - Free" and "XYZ Membership - Gold".

Then, once you have your products setup inside 1SC, they will ask for a Thank You Page URL to send people to once someone has bought.

This is the URL that WL Member creates for you. To use this, go to "Membership Levels" and you'll see the URL beside each membership level that you have created.

If you need a visual example I would recommend the following video.

    Here is the URL:
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/20-adding-new-membership-levels-wp27/

So essentially, if someone was upgrading, you would still send them to the shopping cart page to pay and then when their order is processed, they will be taken to the thank you page/registration URL for the new membership.

When they get there, they would just need to click the link for "Existing Members" and then they enter their username and password and it upgrades them accordingly.

  6. Does WishList Member give you the ability to run an affiliate program from within it?

We do not currently have that feature built into WL Member but we are considering it for a future release.

With that in mind, it's important for you to note that WL Member does currently integrate with other affiliate management tracking systems.

Many of our customers are currently using Clickbank.com, iDev.com, and 1ShoppingCart.com to successfully manage their affiliates so it is possible to setup a membership site using WL Member and have an affiliate program at the same time.

Essentially, it would work just like any other product that you would setup with these programs. You would just give the URL of your membership site as the product URL and then any person that is sent to your site through an affiliate link will automatically be cookied. Therefore if they buy, the affiliate will be credited accordingly.

  7. Does WishList Member have aWeber integration?

    It certainly does!

The following video will walk you through the steps of getting it set up.
    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/26-aweber-integration-wp27/

  8. I am having trouble FTP-ing content like audio to WishList Member

We suggest looking at the permissions of your folders.

This isn't a WL Member error as much as it's a permissions error.

Generally this can be resolved by changing the permissions of the folders to read 777.

    Here's how we do it:

    1) Find the "uploads" folder in your FTP program.
    2) Right click on the "uploads" folder.
    3) Select "File Attributes"

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/wG8yGUJqiZF

Then make sure all the Owner, Group and Public permissions are checked. It will create a Numeric Value of "777".

    Here is a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/iZfYij9pQF

That should fix the typical FTP issues.

  9. Is there any way that I can integrate a forum into my WishList Member membership site?

We currently do not have an add-on for any forums but many of our other customers have shared that the BBPress.org plugin works well with WL Member as well as SimplePress (http://simplepressforum.com/) since they both the same user database as WL Member.

We will start development for a forum add-on soon but I can't give you a definite timeline at this point.

With that said, as long as you had a link to the forum on your blog, non-members wouldn't be able to see it or access it without logging in first (if you used the hide/show feature).

  10. Is there a way that WL Member can be set up so that if a member cancels payment, they will be automatically blocked from accessing protected content?

If you are using PayPal, ClickBank or QuickPayPro (Cydec) you certainly can.

We have FULL Integration with PayPal, Clickbank and QuickPayPro (Cydec) whereby if someone were to cancel their payment through any of those 3 payment options, they would be automatically blocked from accessing protected content.

While we are hoping to create FULL integration for other methods of payment in the near future, we currently offer SIMPLE integration where you as an Admin would need to manually cancel a membership if payment stops for all other payment options.

Here are videos for the current FULL integration options:

    PayPal

    QuickPayPro:

  11. Is there any way that I can protect the link for media files within WishList Member?

WL Member cannot stop people from giving away the URL of your media inside your site. However, as with anything, these people could just as easily give away their login and password as well. It's a constant battle that we all face with any membership site.

With that said, there are a few other WordPress plugins that you could use which when combined with WLM could work for you.

    They are:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/download-monitor/

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/drain-hole/

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/secure-files/

Although we don't provide support for plugins/scripts outside of WLM it sounds like these will help you with what you described.

  12. Do you have any suggestions on how to get additional WordPress plugins created?

What we would suggest is going to Rent A Coder and then scouting out top programmers for your project.

What we generally do is search for "WordPress" projects and then seek out the programmers who placed bids for these projects.

But what we look for is a rating of 9.5 or higher and that they have completed 15+ projects for other people. This is a good indicator of their skill set.

Then we look at their profiles to see what kind of WordPress projects they have worked on. If we like them, we add them to my "Coder List".

    Here's a screen shot:
    http://screencast.com/t/zOSQOmLgZVk

Then once we've completed my research and we've added 15-20 people who meet the criteria we laid out above, we post our project.

When we post the project we specifically ask for examples of other WordPress plugins that they've created.

We then invite all the coders we saved on our "Coder List".

This way we get lots of qualified coders bidding on my projects.

  13. Can I use the Paypal Sandbox to test Wishlist?

When testing PayPal, you cannot use PayPal Sandbox.

Paypal Sandbox does not work with WishList Member because Paypal Sandbox uses a different verification URL than the live Paypal site. If you wish to make tests, we recommend that you create a 1 cent product instead and run a full registration through.
